Name: Jou Kyashidi
Age: 19
Village: Hidden Leaf Village
Gender: Male
Clan: Kyashidi clan (clan is lost, all members apparently lost or deceased, save Jou).
Clan History:
--The Kyashidi clan is somewhat of a mystery to modern-day shinobi. Only one member is thought to remain (Jou), but he has no memory of the clan. Of its ideals, techniques, history, inherited abilities etc. More members may exist, but are as yet undiscovered.
--The history of the clan has long since been lost. The clan was founded by four members: Airiin, Jeraado, Seidii and Robaatto Kyashidi. Even over many generations, the clan never really expanded beyond twenty or so members. This was due to an inherited inability to bear children that affected just under half of the members.
--They were a quiet clan, very few people knew them well. The clan members dislike conflict, taking a more political approach to problem solving. There are only a handful of members in its entire history who became shinobi or kunoichi. They never really explored their potential as ninja.
--Shortly after Jou was born, the clan was attacked by mercenaries. The reason is unknown, but likely due to their use of political influence. With little experience in combat, they were more or less defenseless. Most died, and the remainder of the clan scattered.
--All clan members have the ability to access their Kekkei Genkai - the Taiyoumetsuki. Because of their pacifistic nature, however, it was rarely used or seen by anyone.
Family: Deceased.
Special Characteristics: Kekkei Genkai: Taiyoumetsuki (Sun's Eyes).
This Kekkei Genkai is (as yet) unique to Jou. He knows very little about it himself, but has learned to understand and control its effects. It is activated by Jou closing his eyes and concentrating chakra to their surface. Upon opening his eyes, the most noticeable thing about Jou is his eye colour. It becomes entirely yellow-gold. Small wisps of this effect can be seen dissipating from around the edges of the eyes. the iris' and pupils disappear.
--Jou's opponent(s)' moves become easier to follow (not 'see through' like Sharingan, nor copy-able like Sharingan).
--It allows Jou to see with more accuracy and as normal in any conditions (at night, in mist etc). It does NOT grant extended field or range of vision or allow Jou to see his opponent(s)' tenketsu points (like Byakugan would).
--Jou is able to elevate his body temperate to extraordinary degrees with no ill effect. He can reduce it back to its normal state, but is unable to take it below 36 degrees.
--With the Taiyoumetsuki active, Jou is able to naturally combine his two elements (Wind and Lightning) into a third element, Light. Through this, he is able to perform a number of potent Light techniques.
Rank: Jounin
Summons:
Summoning Name: Daichi
(Daichi's) Element: Wind, lightning.
Rank: A
Description: Jou signed a blood contract with Daichi, the giant falcon. Jou often uses him as a means of transport because of his incredible flying speed and maneuverability. Jou has a good friendship with his summon, not least because they both share natures. Daichi symbolizes wind and lightning, and has often been called “Arashi-jisan (Stormbringer)” by those who have seen or met him. Daichi is able to use lightning and wind in battle, as well as his talons and beak.
Weapons:
-Kunai
-Shuriken
-Item bag (Healing salves, smoke grenades, wire, exploding tags).
Appearance: Short, mouse-brown hair that sometimes looks a little windswept. Calm, grey-blue eyes. Slightly tanned skin.
Lightweight, high collared shirt with long sleeves - white, with thin black edges. Cotton I guess.
Lightweight, long legged trousers - beige/khaki. All clothes loose but not at all baggy. Again, cotton.
Kunai holder attached to just above knee height on right leg, and on left hip (more towards the back).
Item pouch on right hip.
Personality: Fiercely loyal, eager to prove himself. A hard-working individual, he is mostly quiet, but has plenty of energy. Often tries too hard (socially), finding comfort in small groups of friends, and discomfort in larger, unfamiliar groups.
By nature, he is pacifistic (as above - prefers to avoid difficult/challenging situations). However, when he or his friends are threatened, he is more than eager to defend them.
Elements: Lightning, Wind
History/background Story:
At 11 years of age, Jou was found just outside the Hidden Leaf Village unconscious and with multiple minor wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he was nursed to health, and consequently questioned about his situation. Jou had (and still has) no memory of his life before he was recovered. This caused some confusion, because the minor wounds he had received would not have caused such an extreme reaction. Some were suspicious of these circumstances, and were unafraid to voice their opinions. Despite this, the village permitted him to stay.
As a consequence of his memory loss, Jou had to learn about societal rules, about the countries and countless other things from scratch. He found he disliked social events (excepting with his small group of close friends), meeting new people and any uncomfortable situation. He still tends to avoid social challenges if at all possible.
He breezed through the academy training - his skills as a shinobi seemed inherent and unaffected by the memory loss. Graduating the academy one year later, he joined a ninja team as a Genin. He began to develop his own techniques under the guidance of the team's Jounin leader. It wasn't long before he entered the Chuunin exams and advanced far enough to be promoted.
By now (aged 16), he was incredibly fond of his foster village, but wanted to know more of his past. The Village Council were unwilling to let him go, but knew the matter was of utmost personal importance. He left the Hidden Leaf Village with their blessing, to search for anything that might answer some questions: what had happened to him, where he was from, who are or were his parents. He visited six countries in his travels - (in order, first --> last) Grass Country, Bird Country, Earth Country, Waterfall Country, Sound Country and Lightning Country - before returning two years later, to Fire Country and to the Hidden Leaf Village.
He returned with some knowledge of his past. His parents, Annu and Makku Kyashidi were presumed dead - they hadn't been heard from for over eight years. He had acquired an old picture of them in Bird Country, where they were last seen. He still had no insight into his Kekkei Genkai. No one he had met had seen it before. Perhaps the most important piece of information he had acquired was a little about what had happened to him. In a couple of the countries he had visited, there had been a rumor about a sinister technique being used on certain individuals. Most commonly, the victim would commit a crime, then lose his/her memory of what had happened. Why Jou's memory had completely disappeared is to this day a mystery, and he often worries about what he might have done but can't remember.
Training in six different countries had helped Jou develop a wealth of techniques, an improved physique and a more mature approach to the shinobi 'path'. Across two years, he had honed his chakra natures and even managed to combine them into a third element - Light. At just 18, he was promoted to Jounin. However, his superiors found it difficult to treat him as such. It wasn't until Jou successfully completed his first S-rank mission (with a companion), after three A-rank missions alone, that the others began to accept him.
He is now 19 and life has continued fairly normally for him over the last 12 months. He aspires to lead a Genin team sometime soon.
Roleplay Sample:
It had been a long, hard year. Since becoming a Jounin 16 months ago, he had been training almost daily. The others were quick to criticize him and Jou hated it. Indeed, doubts had been raised about his suitability for promotion - his age was one. He was by no means the youngest ninja promoted, but he was still only just an adult. The other doubt was his past. Concerns about his past that even unnerved Jou himself had been raised. They had subsequently been quashed and swept aside - but not forgotten.
Looking back at the year, he probably should have spent a little less time shut off from everyone with his training and research. At least then he'd have some company. Not that he had wasted the year. With all that theoretical and practical training, he had developed a wealth of new techniques.
As these thoughts swam around in circles in his head, Jou heard his footsteps soften. He stopped to look down, and then around him. "That was quick." He muttered, sitting down. This part of the lake was always quiet. Jou found he could write his stories and poems here without interruption. He took a few crumpled bits of paper and a pencil from his pocket. For the first time in that day, Jou smiled.
